DESERT THRU MY EYES

Sunday we made a trip to El Centro Ca, of course we did some caching while there, one of the caches led us to this old cemetery. It is advised to only find this cache during daylight even tho' the cache is outside the fence. It is believed that the place is haunted, there favorite place is by the huge tree, there is a bench there for there comfort. El Centro knows how to treat there spirits. The other pictures are of old headstones, some broken. The craftsmanship in the heart shape headstone is interesting, do not make them like that anymore.

1. Ocotillo which is considered a tree or shrub.
2. View of the Colorado River.
3. The desert floor and hills around Yuma.
4. Yuma has lots of canals it is fun to drive the canals, you never know what you will see.
5. 6. 7. are of the Wetlands, they are working on adding to the wetlands park. It will be a large park when completed.
8. This is Buttercup sand dunes, the vegetation is really growing you can see some purple flowers, no idea what they are called.
9. Took this in El Centro looking down on the bare trees, interesting view. The white stuff you see is not snow, some kind of alkali.

I am looking forward to the flowers blooming this year, with all the rain we have had this year there should be lots of color in the desert.

The last few days has been nice, in the 70's some wind but not bad, sure beats the snow and rain so there is no way I will complain. But I will be glad when it is shorts weather.

That's it for this post, just wanted to show you the desert thru my eyes..........and the woderful places that caching takes us.
