4TH of July. In the afternoon the kids came over for a BBQ, Doug was able to get off work early enough to join us. As you can see it did not take us long to mow down on hamburger with all the trimmings.
The cone type thingies you see was a cone that you pulled a cord and long streamers came out. As you can see from the pictures Cassidy and Trace found other things to do with the cones and streamers. Who needs all the Hi-Tech toys.
Before the picnic was over we had an unexpected guest, yep the bunny got quite close and kept Tami and I entertained for quite a while. Later in the evening Wayne and I headed into town for the yearly Morris fireworks display. This year the kids were old enough to help light off the fire works and they had a great time. Trace and Cassidy had fun putting sparklers on there Skateboards and riding them down the sidewalk.
The last two pictures are of the neighbors with there baby's 1st 4th of July celebration.
This year there seemed to be more fire works in the neighborhood. Bigger and better, here are a few that we set off on the ground. Of course the nice pretty big ones in the air are impossible for me to capture. Both of the kids had to spell there names in the air with sparkler. On the way home Wayne and I drove towards Fort Vancouver and saw some of the big fire works. The smoke in town was quite thick, it almost looked like California..... once we got close to the park the air was quite clear. Another 4th of July in the Great Northwest has come to an end.
Later from the coast B
