We arrived at Sand lake early and our site was still occupied, so we parked in the overflow parking lot and had lunch. After lunch John was here and our site was open. We had a seagull keeping us company after we got things done, or maybe it was John's hot wings he was eating. It was nice getting here early and getting things set up before Doug and crew got here. This time Cassidy and Trace brought friends Haley and Chelsie. After camp was set they talked Doug and Grandpa into a ride in the Rhinos, it was just starting to get dark. The kids have a tent set up and they all slept in it all night. We all figured they would come inside somtime in the middle of the night. Doug even told them stroies about wild animals before they went to bed.........smart kids they do not believe Doug's stories.
Saturday was a beautiful day just warm enought to be comfortable
and to get a sun burn.......which Tami found out. Tami and I took the kids and Ollie to the beach. They all had a good time they girls gave themselves a sand beauty treatment. They all skipped rocks on the water. Ollie loved the sand, at first he tried to eat the sand, then he discoverd how much fun it is to dig in the sand. Look close at the middle picture and you can see the sand flying. Not sure what Trace was doing laying on the yellow line, I guess it was a case of it was there and he could. When we got back from the beach John was checking his eye lids for leaks.
Kevin and Becky (C&H's parents) stopped and visited, for some reason no pictures, what can I say other than I am falling down on my job. We took Becky and Kevin out on the dunes in the Rhino's of course we had to race up the bowl, and a trip around the boul, kinda scary for a first timers.
Tonight we had "Prime" ribeye steak for dinner it was the first steak I have had in a long time, and I ate it all. Did not realize how much difference there was between Prime and Choice cuts. We picked up the steaks at Costco, unfortunately they do not always have the Prime Ribeyes.
John left for home this eveing and tomorrow Doug and group will head back to Vancouver. We will stay here one more night and then head on down the coast. Coos Bay and Bandon.....then make it back to Vancouver in time for the fair.
More later B
