ARE THERE GHOST IN THEM THERE RUINS?

Here are some pictures of Redondo Ruins, a cache had been placed here otherwise we would not know about the Ruins. Some people say the ruins are haunted, I like to believe they are. The cache was place in a pen on the fence, look close and you can see it on the picture.

The Ruins named after Jose Marie Redondo who developed the property in the 1870s. The land now belongs to the Archaeological Conservancy, it is a New Mexico-based nonprofit group. The ruins are sourrounded by a simple fence and you need written permission to enter the ruins.

There are some who refuse to go near the old ruins. One of these people was a valley native who had worked for John Corvine as a night irrigator. There was a time when the young man did go near the old ruins. This is just one of the stories from the "YUMA SPIRIT HUNTERS".

On one still moonlit night he was irrigating all by himself near the ruins. A gate on one of the ditches had frozen so he squatted down trying to open it. Suddenly he became aware of someone behind him. Turning to look over his shoulder, he saw a man walking up to him. The newcomer stopped and asked for a match. While still trying to open the gate, the irrigator reached in his pocket , pulled out some matches and handed them back to the man without turning to look again. The man thanked him lit a cigarette and walked on past toward the adobe building. At that instant the gate loosened and opened. The irrigator stood up and looked all around, but there was no one in sight and there were no footprints.

He took off for Cervenmy's camp and excitedly informed his boss of the incident, Cerveny replied nonchalantly, "Oh, that guy . He's there all the time. Do not know about you but I believe this story, now I want to go out there some night and see who shows!

I wonder if I can talk Wayne into going out to the ruins some full moon night????

This week has been a full one getting ready for this week-end event, tonight is the fishing flash mob and the the warm up at Luits. We will be heading that way soon so we can get a bite to eat before things get started. Will have to update my blog again to tell you about the caches put out for the Event #6.
