Sunday We went to Waikiki for "sunset on the beach" checked out the food booths, had a Greek salad. On down to Sheraton to the Banyan tree, they had free entertainment, we had a pulled Kalua pork sandwich while watching the show and visited with tourist.
Monday.......we went to Kailua to Buzz's Original Steakhouse for dinner.... it was as good as I remember from 30 years ago, had teriyaki steak and shrimp scampi.
Tuesday...Movie "Four brothers" that was good, lot of violence and bad language, but it went with the story.. pretty good movie. Lunch was at Yummys Korean food, love that..always get 5 veggies, need to cut that down to 4, way to much food and I eat it all anyhow. The neighbor took us to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, she wanted to visit some friends and did not want to drive to Waikiki by herself.....so of course we were ready to go..... Visited with her friends and then to check out the shop at Duke's, I got a shirt there. One of the girl's Dad had competed against Duke in the 1920's so she wanted a card with Duke on it. We Loretta, Louise and I went back to the Royal Hawaiian for Pupus and entertainment. Kelly Boy Kapena and his son was playing, they came over to the table during their break so we did the tourist thing and took pictures....
Wednesday....11:00 historical tour of the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel, that was very enjoyable.. it took an hour and half. On to have Brazilian food for lunch, Tudo De Bon, it was a BBQ and quite good, 5 different kinds of meat. Brisket, garlic steak, pepper steak, pork lion and chicken....they would bring over a skewer with meat give you one piece, they would bring it as long as you wanted.....each piece was only a couple bites. At night they have 9 kinds of meat and week ends 14.... very good..........Night found us at the "Blue Hawaii" show, an Elvis impersonator, the show was very good. Got lots of pictures....on down to Royal Hawaiian Shopping center, they had an entertainer playing steel drums......Starting Oct 1, they will be demolishing the shopping center...... a lot of reconstruction going on in Waikiki.
Thursday.....shopped at Costco... that was it.....got gas while there and it was only $2.99.9.....the lowest I have seen since I came to the Island this time.
Friday....Went to Blaisdell Center for a Senior Fair, lunch was at TGI Friday. Germaine's Luau this was very enjoyable....we sat with a couple from Georgia, they were fun to talk to. Food was OK, entertainment was real good....Had a great time.
Some pictures to follow, that is if I did it right...... Lots of things in the works for next week so stay tuned.... Aloha Becky
